Finally someone asks the questions - It's about time!

This news anchor is just fantastic! The candidates should be grilled. God knows the liberal media grilled Sarah Palin beyond belief.

Ask not what your country can do for you...

Consider this:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."

(This passage has been attributed to a Scottish fellow by the name of Alexander Tytler, a historian and professor who lived in the late 1700s/early 1800s. It is not known for sure if this was indeed his statement.)

In the United States, we have long since passed the abundance stage and are hovering between complacency and apathy. We even have a great many Americans who have already arrived at the dependence stage. In America, we are so privileged to have the rights that we have. We enjoy freedom from tyranny, safety from aggressors, protection of our persons and our property through police and fire departments, free education, clean water, clean air - I could go on and on. A majority of the world never has and never will enjoy all of the wonderful things that we enjoy here in America. Black, white, Asian, man, woman, child - everyone has these rights in America. Yet, I'm not begrudging us this good life; our forefathers fought and died, toiled and sacrificed to make this country the great country that it is. With the help of divine providence. Our founders crafted our system of government so that each future generation could build upon this foundation, always with the good of the people in mind. But I guess that's the problem now... the people. I beg people to consider these stages as they call for the government to fix all of their problems - debt, healthcare, etc. etc. At all times, we are just step away from bondage.
